How to Listen
Frequency: 927.450 MHz, narrowband FM, transmitting around the clock.
The schedule
| Minutes past the hour | What airs |
|---|---|
| :00 and :30 | Full report: operations, then space at :05, Earth at :10 |
| :15 and :45 | A one-minute update: maximum usable frequency, DX, satellites, and anything new |
| In between | The steady carrier, with status bulletins, CW messages read back by voice, and CW IDs |
Reports in the first half of each hour use US units; the second half uses metric.
Equipment
Many scanners and some ham handhelds and mobiles cover 902 to 928 MHz. Converted commercial 900 MHz radios work well, and so does any software-defined radio receiver. A simple vertical or small Yagi helps a great deal at this frequency.
